Awesome Blackie Four

I'm so happy today. I went for Thai food with friends at Sg Buloh. Yippie!! My last visit to this restaurant was like ... 3 to 4 years ago. It's deep in a kampung and all of a sudden there's this huge bungalow which was decorated nicely.

The toilet is very nice yet simple. One of the most beautiful toilet that I have ever visited. I know it's weird to comment about toilets but this one is too beautiful edi. Can't resist. Hehe :) I just love the fresh flowers on the basin top. Fresh roses wehhhh. Okay, I'm one of those girls who are crazy about flowers especially the certain colour of rose. If you know me well, you will know what colour that I'm talking about.

Eating companions of the day. All 3 of them have this really great patience for keep on u turn around Sg Buloh because I don't remember the way there very well. The last time I was there, the bridge is under construction. It's completed now but I have no idea which exit will leads us up the bridge. Furthermore, all 3 of them were really hungry at that time and it's around 4 something in the evening.

Besides that, I told them that I have no idea whether the restaurant is open today or not. Even if it's open, I don't know if they still serve food at that time. I mean, not many people will take their lunch around 4 something of the day right? It's way after lunch time and quite far away from dinner. Hehe. When we finally found the place, I'm really really happy. At least these hungry ppl stand some chance to eat. I am not hungry at all though. Hehe.

The corridor which leads us to the restaurant. I love their interior and exterior design because it so Thai-ish. It's like one of those hotel that I saw in Phuket last time. Gosh, talking about Phuket, I missed going to the beach. Never ever have any sunrise-and-sunset-watching experience before. Usually when I reached the beach in the evening, the sun is already gone. As for sunrise, it's a bit hard for me to wake up for it. By the time I'm wide awake, the sun is already high up in the sky. Haha.

Name of the restaurant. I think the umbrella is somehow their logo or something because I saw them on the grill of the windows as well.

Ohh, let's have a look at our food :)

Really really really really "old" but sweet coconut. I can't even remove the flesh from the coconut. It's really thick and hard :(

Our seafood tom yam. I prefer the one in Hulu Langat though. It's not spicy and sour enough. I'm not the only who think that way okay. My food companions for the day think the same way too.

The belacan kangkung. I love the carrot rose. It's so pretty :) Rose is one of my favourite colour. Just not this colour okay. But.... I have never see an orange colour rose though. I mean a real rose kind of rose. Ahh.... you get what I mean.

Thai syle beancurd. Basically it's Japanese toufu cooked together with seafood and chicken meat. It tasted quite nice though. Japanese toufu is my favourite toufu okay. Ohh, if you pay close attention to the photo, you will notice that the carrots in the dish is cut into a butterfly shape. It's so pretty!!

Pandan chicken. One of my favourite because it's boneless. Hehe. Furthermore, they minced the chicken meat first and mixed it with certain spices and wrapped it with pandan leaves. Quite nice actually just that it's a bit too oily for me :)

Those were basically what we had for lunch today. I'm glad that I have a bunch of great friends who are willing to go this place for me even though I kept on repeating that I have no idea if I know the way and not sure if they will like the food or not. For me, I love this place's interior and exterior design more than it's food. Not to say the food are not good. It's actually quite okay, in my opinion. Just that I prefer the one in Hulu Langat more :)

Okay, that's all for now. I have to attend to my princess Baby who is so emo right now because I'm not around for 2 days. She kept on jumping up on my lap and tap my hand so that I will sayang her. Attention seeker or what?!?!!?

Shabu Shabu in Puchong

OMG. It's only 6 something in the morning and I'm already wide awake. Haihh... It's a Sunday morning. I think I am having Ho Pa Pa's syndrome. Wake up early in the morning, watch tv (or do some random stuff) then go back to sleep later on. I am mentally very tired but no matter how I tried to roll left and right to find a comfy position, I can't seem to fall asleep again. Tsk tsk tsk.

Decided to update by poor abandoned blog :) Sorry my dear blog.

Went for Shabu Shabu with colleagues and Jullian last Thursday (I know, it's LAST THURSDAY!!). I visited this place with Cass last year and it wasn't quite nice though. But me and her had one hell of a good time stuffing our stomach with food. Hehe. When Chan suggested shabu shabu at Puchong, I thought it will some other place instead of this since he said it's nice. But when I showed him the shabu shabu place that I know at that area, he said "yeah yeah yeah. It's this one. OMG I'm so happy". Since we have reached that place, I have no choice but to convince myself "Maybe it will be better this time". Hehe.

I forgot the name of the restaurant but it has moved to the other end of the same row of shop. I think it's to accomodate more customers, especially during the weekend. Everything remained the same though. I think the price increased a lil bit.

What you are about to view is totally not my creation. It's real.

This... my dear friends, were the amount of vegetables that Chan grabbed from the revolver. Oh, did I mention that it's for 2 person which is for me and him? Suk Yee and SW have nearly the same amount of vegetables to finish, thanks to Chan as well. Jullian said he's not a big fan of vege except those cooked by his mum, was spared from this vege frenzy. At one point, I thought I was having vegetarian steamboat OR I have transformed into a cow OR my skin is turning green. Chan's slogan for the whole meal was "vege is good for health" and he will placed a few vege on your pot. Basically my stomach that night was filled with fishballs and meat the lower half and vegetables on the upper half. It's that crazy!!

Each seat comes with individual heat controller. When I reached my seat, no matter how many times I pressed the button, it will not turn on. I thought it was spoilt but then when Jullian pressed the On/Off button for me, it works! I think the heat controller don't like me :( humphhh!!!

Some instructions that were placed just right in front of me. It served like a constant reminder to me the whole night to finish the vege -_-"

The double storey revolver filled with food in sushi style. I have no idea how many types of different balls (somehow it sounds so wrong :p ), processed food, noodles and vegetables on it. The lady in the middle will suddenly appear to serve the customers with thinly sliced pork. Both Chan and Jullian had 5 plates of those meat EACH! I think they are crazy, especially Jullian. He really can eat a lot. You should see his soup at the end of the meal. It's really really thick. He even had 3 bowls of sauce!! Hehe. I found it funny :)

That's the end of the Shabu Shabu experience. Overall, I think it's still the same as the first time I visited that place with Cass. I would love to try another shabu shabu at the other side of shops and the one at NZX. Have been reading a lot of reviews for these 2 places. Girls :) let's go makan-makan trip. Eh wait, Tsuey Wenn don't like steamboat. Cis... maybe I will request one of these 2 places for my birthday dinner :) Hehehe.

Last Sunday was the day my parents meet Brandon kor kor's parents for the first time to discuss about the wedding and also taste the wedding dinner's dishes.

I totally love the way they placed the plates. The shade of pink colour is really really nice. Did not take photos of the food because I don't want to reveal the dishes for the wedding dinner before the actual day :) Overall, I would rate it as okay only. By the time they served the 3 dish, I was already full. Throughout the dinner, I've learned some funny tradition or preparation or rules for Chinese wedding. It's really funny but interesting at the same time. I asked a lot of questions as if I'm the one getting married. Haha.

Okay, that's all for now. Will try to go back to sleep again :)

Night ppl :)

6 to 10 Grill

Last Saturday, we went for girls makan and gossip gathering at Happy Palace ( ... I think that's the name ) at this place call 6 to 10 Grill ( ... I think that's the name also ... haha ). The reason why I am not sure of the restaurant name is because all this while I thought that we will be eating at Food Foundry. I am like damn excited. Mana tau, when I'm looking for a parking space, they said change location. This place is just behind Food Foundry but at the other end. Furthermore, due to certain *ahem* blurness of Ms Cheong, I have to go pick up Ms Chong. Haha. Anyway, it's good that I went to fetch Pui See because Wai Leng can drive Pui See's car to that place. Anyway, below are photos of food for the night.

Pork Chop = not nice. Very very hard.

Nasi Lemak with sotong and don't know what. Haha. The thing on the top left corner is minced pork with something. Haha. I really have no idea what it is leh. But it's good though.

My mushroom and chicken soup with SPRING ONION ( thank you Rachel ). We, especially me, found it funny that they put spring onion on the soup. I mean spring onions are mostly found in chinese cuisine and chicken and mushroom soup is western. This is a fusion soup!!! Hahahaha. Okay, enough madness. Let's continue.

Special chicken chop = I really can't find anything special about it though. But it's better than the pork chop. Haha.

This will be grilled chicken chop. So so only....

This is my grilled dory fish with butter and lemon sauce. I love this dish very much mainly it's because of the sauce. At first it tasted a bit weird but then if eat together with the tasteless dory fish fillet, it's actually a great combination. Hehe. Wai Leng who came late ordered the same thing too.

That's all for the food session. Due to time factor and the fact that TW is driving that day, plus Wai Leng and Pui See have to rush back to work, we ended the dinner early. Haihhh....

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Went all the way to Saujana Impian for this...

STEAMBOAT!!! Actually the story is like this. Dad tells daughter want to eat steamboat but don't want to eat the one that we always eat that one. So daughter went online and found 2 places. One is at Sri Petaling and another one is at Bangsar. Daughter went down to the living room and found dad sleeping soundly while mum solving sudoku riddle. Daughter inform mum that found 2 places to eat steamboat and dad woke up. Mum suggested to visit uncle at Saujana Impian for dinner because need to pass him this ....

FAMILY POTRAIT!!! Let me introduce one by one.
First row standing left to right = Dad, Ku Ma, Pak Pak
Second row = Ah Ku, Ah Ma, Ah Yeh, 3 suk

There. Those are the Ho family like 30 years ago. My dad is so super thin. Gosh.... But still handsome. Haha.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today is my second and last off day of the week. Basically, I spent my off day growing wild mushrooms. Haha. Had this for breakfast...

Peanut butter bun... something like that. Haha. It was really nice though. Not sweet at all because the peanut butter is really very thinly spread.

This is Baby on the way home from vet. She is looking tired and happy and thirsty at the same time. Dr Ben said she did everything. Urine and shit. Haha. Naughty girl!!

Popeye the Sailor Fried Chicken

I just reached home from Ice Age 3. Is it me or the movie is quite boring. Maybe it's always about the big mammoth always saving other creature's life. There are a few funny scenes though. I think it's better than Ice Age 2. Next movie will be Harry Porter :) This time I'll be watching with my collegues after work on Saturday, I guess. The main organizer will be me and David. Hehe. Anybody want to join?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday is my off day but I went back to the office for one problematic case. Somehow, it has created a lot of problems to us. When I reached the office, there were a lot of discharge files piling up on the table. So I stayed back till 7pm to help clear off all the files.

Anyway, I went to this new place with Alex for lunch. I read about this place in other blog and it sounds kind of nice. It's called Popeye, located in TTDI. It's concept is quite similar to KFC.

This is what we ordered. A chicken set and a fish & shrimp set. The number is for our fish & shrimp. Let's start with the chicken first.

In my opinion, each piece of chicken is quite big in size. We ordered 3 pieces of chicken and luckily there is one chicken breast for me among them. Hehe. I can't really differentiate the spicy from the non spicy because the colour is exactly the same ( it is either that or I'm colour blind!! ). The taste, well, I would think that it' so-so only. KFC is still way better. Maybe it's because the flying flour is tasteless. But, the chicken breast meat is quite juicy. Unlike certain chicken breast that is very hard and dry.

Tadaaaa. The fish and shrimp set. I prefer this than the chicken, although the batter is still the same for both chicken and fish. The prawns were extremely fresh though. I think SW can take this one. Hehe. Ohhh yeah, I forgot to introduce the cookie. In our opinion, it's actually more like a bun than a cookie but it's really really good when it's warm. Something similar to those bread found in Tony Romas. Each set comes with coleslaw and mashed potato. The coleslaw taste a bit weird, maybe it's because they put pickle into it. The mashed potato is really really good. The gravy has some minced meat in it. Yummy :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
After lunch, both of us went to this place for drinks. It's called Food Foundry. The interior of the restaurant is really nice. Perfect for drinks with a group of friends and in my case, gossips session with my gals :) I miss them so much alrady. Each of them are busy with their own stuff. Haihhh....

The menu. Their menu is actually quite cute. It's like those chart that you can find in hospitals, hanging at the end of patient's bed. Then the nurse/doctor will have to flip the paper upwards to write patient's stats on it. Ahhh, you know what I mean :)
The first thing that attracted both of my eyes when I entered the restaurant was this...

CREPPE!!!! Omg. I am always craving for the one that I had in Malacca and I'm very happy to found this in KL too. BUT!!!! The one in Malacca is still the best, so far. The one in Food Foundry, well, for me it's not soft enough. I browsed through the menu and found a few interesting food. Will be there again for their main course though :)
