Amy Heritage Nyonya Cuisine

Okay, I okdo admit. I am a lazy pig. There were times when I don’t online for 2 or 3 nights in a row. I am currently busy with a few things. Work, Calvin, CNY and my yahoo games. Yes, yahoo games!! I bought a few CDs with the famous Yahoo games and I can’t stop playing Wedding Dash, Soap Opera Dash and Supermarket Mania. I have a lot more that I have yet to explore. They are so addictive. Hehe. Today, I promised myself to sleep early after a tiring weekend. I have buffet everyday starting from Friday. On Friday afternoon, me and colleagues went to Equatorial Hotel for our department day. We were allowed to finish work at 2.30pm to enjoy a free high tea!! After that, we were treated for a movie but most of us did not go as the choice of movie was quite bad. One of my colleague who went for the movie came out 30 minutes after the show started. Haha. Anyway, I won a Famous Amos truck tin filled with cookies!! Can’t wait to share it with Calvin.

On Saturday night, me and my galz plus partners went to Seoul Garden at 1U for dinner to celebrate Shin’s birthday. It was my first time at Seoul Garden but then was kind of disappointed with the food. Our seats were at the very end. It was okay at first but soon became hot and stuffy towards the end of the dinner. It was very uncomfortable. But the time spent chatting with my galz made up for it. Hehe. We went to Old Town and talk the whole night, till the staff have to turn off the lights so that we will leave the place. Haha. Calvin and other partners sat at another table where they embarked on another conversation. I am super happy that the guys went along well, which means us girls don’t have to worry of leaving the guys together. They bonded very well over the night. Now, whenever we have girls discussion, the girls can either join together or they can have their own at another table. Us girls don’t have to worry that the guys will ask us to leave every 5 minutes. They can talk non stop as well, just like girls. Hehe.

On Sunday night, I went to Tao with Calvin and his family as his aunty will be going back to Australia this coming Saturday. She wanted to treat us for dinner. That was my first time at Tao as well. I must say their food is quite good, with teppanyaki, grilled items, sushi, temaki, sashimi and even Chinese dessert. Hehe. After dinner, we have this meaning conversation with Calvin’s dad and uncle which made us realized on something important. Oh well, both me and Calvin will try our best to achieve it!!! Weee….

To continue where I stopped on my last post, we headed to this Nyonya restaurant where Wai Leng, Vince and Pui See loved very much. They have been there previously. Food was amazing but a little bit pricey from the others. I found out that the owner of the restaurant is actually Rachel’s grandma’s friend. Small world right? Hehe.

Locating the restaurant was a simple task as you can see the restaurant from the main road. It is located opposite Mahkota Medical Centre, a little bit further up. I love Nyonya food because sour and spicy are so my thing.

The yummy pai tee. I don’t like pai tee, so I did not joined their pai tee cheers. Haha. They said the pai tee is really good.

The drinks that we ordered. Actually I am the one who ordered the lychee drink as I was very thirsty and I don’t eat or drink anything with the resemblance of big fat worms. Calvin ordered the Cendol (green worms), while some of the girls ordered another type of dessert with white worms. Haha.

Our food for the day. We were really hungry as the journey from Port Dickson to Malacca was quite far and long as we took the old road/non highway road. Since according to GPS, that is the shortest route. But we should have select the shortest time route. Oh well… let’s get back to the yummy food. The curry prawns were amazing. Not too spicy and the gravy is the best companion for our white rice. Sambal petai with prawns is my favorite of all the dishes. I am a big fan of petai. I can only eat it at home because I won’t have to talk to much people. If I eat it outside, it will be very difficult for me to talk as not many people can accept the petai smell. Hehe. But if you eat it with eggplant, there will be no smell, even when you urinate. Tested and proven to be true. Hehe. The taufu and fish was just average. Oh, not to forget the lady fingers as well. Quite yummy when prepared that way. Hehe. Overall, I would definitely be back to try other food from this restaurant for my next trip to Malacca. Come to think of it, we have been to Malacca quite a number of times but none of them were with Rachel. Malacca is her kampung and all of us were very eager for her to show us other famous and yummy food as well. So dear Rachel, please arrange a time for us to makan-makan at Malacca, Rachel’s list. Weeeeee.

That’s all for now. Have to continue with my Yahoo games. Haha.
