I finally remembered to return Calvin’s pen drive and he gave me a copy of all the photos yesterday. So happy :)
First to talk about, for sure my dear Calvin’s birthday. He picked me up from work and we agreed to wear really nice (him in shirt and jeans while I’m in dress) for dinner. Since we were early, we went to Pavillion to get my “surprise” for him. It was really funny, but I can’t disclose it because it’s our little secret *wink at Calvin*. Our initial plan was to have dinner at Tony Roma’s but at the last minute, I suggested the Japanese Restaurant called Hajime. I knew about this place for more than 2 years but never have a chance to go. When I suggested the place to Calvin, being the usual loving Calvin, he said “Okay. Let’s go”. Hehe. Thank you dear. Oh wait…. I paid for the dinner. So thank you to myself as well. Haha.
The puffer fish logo is really cute but I can’t find any dishes with the fish on it. Maybe it has other name and I forgot to ask the waitress about it.
The entrance. It's something like a very short tunnel before you reach the entrance. No pet’s allowed, people. Baby, I’m sorry that I can’t bring you there. Hehe.
I made table reservation one day earlier and choosed the table seats instead of the floor on since I’m wearing a dress. I’m glad that I made reservation because they gave us a table at the corner where there is no table nearby. We can have our own privacy :)
And even our nest-like lamp just above our table.
And also a cupboard with Japanese wine/liquor on the other side.
The interior of the restaurant is just like a traditional Japanese restaurant. They have a sushi bar as well where I think most couple would prefer to sit there as well.
The night before, both me and Calvin surveyed about the food first. It has become our habit to survey about the place that we will be dining in (if we have the time) so we would know what and what not to order. The bento sets look really nice but the portion is quite big. Perfect for sharing.
Calvin being an unagi fan, ordered the unagi set with unagi sushi. Their unagi was as good as the one at Tomoe in Subang Jaya but I prefer this one more because it’s grilled to perfection with the amazing sauce. Not even a tiny bit of stale taste that can be found while eating. Really good :)
I ordered the Ladies Set which has a little bit of everything. I think it’s genius because some ladies (like me, ahem) have a very small appetite (or tangki) where we will be full easily. But we do want to try a variety of food. I guess this restaurant do really stand at a lady point of view when it comes to food. I get to try a mouthful of different dishes. The best of the set would be the tomato soup, fried baby octopus and the roll. Calvin enjoyed the sashimi as well. I’m really happy with the Ladies Set.
It also comes with a scoop of green tea ice cream with red bean paste. Yummy. I was full but still have a little space for ice cream. Hehe.
It was time for my “surprise” for Calvin. Those cupcakes are really cute and I love the candles a lot. I prefer the photo where the candles are not lit because it’s really cute. Why my bf so cute one!!! Really looking more and more like a Pooh bear. Haha. A waitress helped us take 2 photographs and that is the best among the two. It’s a little bit dark and she didn’t focus. Oh well, it’s okay. Only the both of us know how beautiful that night is. Hehe.
After that, we headed to Sky Bar for drinks since it’s just nearby. Calvin totally fulfilled my dreams that night. Hajime and Sky Bar are the places that I really wanted to go for the longest time but never have a chance to. Thank you dear :)
I had Fruit Punch which is way yummy than his drink. I forgot what he ordered but I don’t like it. Maybe because it’s spicy and I can’t really accept spicy drink. Haha. We have an amazing night chatting in the bar that night. A lot of secrets were revealed that night. Haha.
Well, I guess that’s all for Calvin’s birthday. I hope he enjoyed it as much as I do. Can’t wait for my birthday because Calvin is always full of surprises. Hehe.
Pui See, my romantic dance partner, birthday celebration was on the next night. Initial plan was Tao’s Japanese Buffet but changed to Brazilian Japanese Buffet on the last minute. Haha. The name of the restaurant is Karnaval Churasscaria.
It’s the kind of buffet where you will be served instead of having to take the food on your own. The waiters and waitresses were walking around the restaurant whole night with swords of yummy bbq meat. Their lamb and steak was amazingly good. My favourite will be their garlic bread. It’s really really good. The best that I had so far. I have no time to take photographs of the food because when once I sat down, I was served non stop by the waiter. At one point, my plate was full with food that I have to stop them for serving me with more food till I am done. Their service was very fast and friendly as well. Me like :)
And a new potential waiter in training. Haha. But he needs more training because his pineapple slice was really small compared to the real waiter’s version. Good try though, Vince.
The birthday girl with her ice cream cake. Happy Birthday Pui See :)
Group photos at the entrance before leaving. These photographs remind me of our previous Malacca trip. Ohhh, common girls. Faster come out with another makan trip.
That’s all for the two best birthdays celebration to date. Haha. With great company and amazing food.
Important trip ahead and much planning needs to be done. Wooohoooo. Excited!!!
